A revolution in interdental brush performance and price.
Almost ½ the price of other interdental brushes. Compare with
the brushes you’re currently using.
STRONGER
STIFFER WIRE - more resistant to bending and buckling – even in
the smaller sizes.
• Good quality materials including DuPont™ Tynex filaments which deliver
superior cleaning ability and extended brush life.
TWISTY
HANDLE - the slim, round handle, which is a unique feature, enables the
user to rotate the brush. This makes insertion easier and also improves
the cleaning ability.
BRILLIANT

- excellent cleaning in the difficult areas where it matters most, molars & premolars.
CONVENIENT
AND HYGENIC - No fiddly brush heads to replace (patient compliance is
directly related to ease of use). Each brush has its own cap.

- Other brushes often have softer wire which has less resistance to bending
and is less resiliant.
- Most other brushes can't
be fully rotated, are awkward to use and may require handle extension.
- Floss cannot clean areas with concave surfaces.
- Small replaceable brush heads are less hygenic and can be difficult
for some patients.
- Other brushes are much more expensive.
If you have bleeding gums.
If your gums bleed when you first start to use Piksters™, do not
be concerned. it will stop in a week or two and is most likely a sign that
you do need to use Piksters™. It is usually due to existing inflammation
in the gums, which causes weakening of the blood vessels.
This is due to insufficient plaque removal, which is in turn due to insufficient
brushing. (Plaque is the sticky, white paste that forms a film on the teeth
and gums). If you remove the plaque then the gum can heal and the bleeding
will stop with time. So don't be concerned if your gums bleed to begin
with - it is a sign that you need to brush more, not less. Please speak
to your dentist if it continues -you may have a build up of hardened plaque
(calculus or tartar) under the gum, which needs removal by a dental professional.
Please Note: All interdental brushes, toothpicks and sticks can put pressure
on the tip of the gum, especially if you force it or use a brush that is
too big for the space. This can cause a slight re-shaping of the gum over
time. Use small sizes with a gentle action for cosmetic areas such as the
front teeth and larger Piksters™ with a firmer action for the back teeth.
What's the hidden truth behind your gums?
- Many people have pockets or gaps between their gum and tooth. Normally
they are 2-3mm deep. If periodontal disease sets in they can increase
to 5 or 6 mm and become self-degenerating. The deeper the pocket, the
harder it is to stop it getting worse!
- Ask your dentist or hygienist to check your pocket depths and advise
what should be done, if anything. See your dentist if your gums bleed
regularly, if you have bad breath or if food habitually catches
between your back teeth.
- Have your teeth scaled every 6 months to remove the hard, rock-like
buildup that continually recurs - especially below the gum where you
can't see it.
Do you need corrective gum recontouring?
- Quite often periodontal disease can destroy the bone between and around
your teeth, whilst the gum on the outside remains at the existing height.
This creates a space where plaque and dangerous bacteria can be sheltered
from the cleaning action of your brush. These areas are called periodontal
pockets.
- If you have periodontal pockets where plaque and food particles become
trapped between back teeth, ask your dentist if a simple, generally almost
painless procedure should be performed which involves removal and re-contouring
of small amounts of gum. This will open up the plaque trap and enable
you to get an interdental brush into the area which was previously impossible
to clean. Use the biggest one you can comfortably get into the gap.
Why are interdental brushes so effective?
Areas that often harbor plaque and bacteria are the indents between the
roots of your molars and premolars. These areas are called "furcations",
and the gradual destruction of bone in these areas will eventually cause
tooth loss. Even floss does not clean well in furcations. Interdental brushes
such as Piksters™ can help to slow down or stop this destructive process
because the bristles compress and spring into the furcation, especially
during the backward stroke.
Ask your dentist or dental hygienist for more information about gum or
periodontal disease because it is generally painless and significant problems
can develop without you knowing it.
